This prayer was also taught by my Father. We however lost track of the prayer and just remembered the name of Raja Kartivirarjuna and just said his name. As I said earlier also, the Madhwa Calendar has this prayer and I typed the same word by word into Baraha. Here it is for your recital. Hope you don’t loose anything, but if you do, just say this prayer until you find the lost item.

Thanks for the shlokam. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to tell me to chant “Vakra Thunda Mahaakaaya” for lost items. This is probably more apt.
On a sad note, I think a lot of us need to chant this shloka to help recover some pieces of the Air France flight which is lost. Let the authorities at least be able to identify the cause of the crash and prevent it from happening in the future.

No doubt at all, Kaushik. My Sister’s family is traveling in Air France next month to India, and I myself in September. So, we need to find the pieces.
As I have mentioned so many times, I travel almost every week in Airbus A330. I am really scared now. Anyway, not even God will stop our destiny. That’s why my Father used to ask us always to say” Apamruthyu Parihariso Aniladeva”.

As I remember, Kartavirya Arjuna was an evil person who was killed by Sri ParashuramaDevaru. Following his death, Lord Parashurama killed Kartavirya Arjuna’s sons and the next 21 generations of Kshatriyas.
I’m not sure what Kartavirya Arjuna’s significance is [regarding lost items].
I really don’t know Mr. Venkatesh Rao. As I said earlier also, my Grandmothers, Dad and also the Madhwa Panchanga have this prayer. It must have some significance. I will find out and write about it as well.

It is true Kartaveeryaarjuna had evil & selfish traits, but the significance of his avatara was ” eradication of Sudarsana Chakra’s ahankara through suffering in successive birth”. A devotee who chants Karthaveeraarjuna Sloka becomes eligible for answer to prayer only if the devotee repents for his carelessness and ahankara.. Such a devotee is expected to gfet from prayer part of Karthaveerayaarjuna’ssteadfast devotion in penance to Dattatreya, and regaining 1000 hands from a state of handless child.

It is true he had evil traits also, but handless child grew to the extent of gaining 1000 hands by tapas. For this quality, this deity is worshipped . Eligibility to worship Karthaveeryarjuna is for a devotee who repents for his ahankara. There is no shortcut by praying Karthaveeryarjuna.

Dear Venkatesh Rao, Karthaveeryarjuna had stupendous will power. Despite born as a hand – less child, and considered a curse by his own parents, he regained powers of 1000 hands by penance of Dattatreya. He also grew to the extent of defeating Ravana in a battle. For qualities of determination in penance and resilience to gain powers of 1000 hands, Karthaveeryarjuna is worshipped. Appropriateness of diety for any worship, and result of prayer is mainly governed by two factors…..i) Karmic background of the devotee and…. ii) degree of repentance of the devotee. For lost items, Karthaveeryarjuna is recommended because, from the ststus of Sudarsana Chakra, he slumped to the level of a handicapped and cursed mortal, by negative attributes of ahamkara, and later, by proper repentance, went on to recover the powers of equivalence to defeating Ravana. Defeating Ravana is not a child’s play, because, Lord Vishnu required a separate avatara to kill Ravana. Karthaveeryarjuna’s come back to the level of defeating Ravana from the handicapped mortal’s state is a virtue par excellence. This character is worthy of prayer, because, he is believed to be an avatara of Sudarsana Chakra.

was not an evil person. He was a very good and mighty ruler. As the saying goes, vinasha kaale vibhareetha budhi, his time came for death and hence his brain worked in a way to steal kamadhenu. even then he wanted to have it only because he thought he could drive away hunger if he had kamadhenu with him.

I am fully agree with you.
Kartavirya was wanting the Kamdhenu to him because as a King it was his duty to give arrange food for the very poor hungered peoples. If it was possible for him through Kamdhenu he would have tried to solvethe food problems in his kingdom.
At the same time it was also true that Jamdagni refused to hand over Kamdhenu to Kartavirya as it was given to him by Lord Indra as a present. And we should not pass the things to others which are given by somebody by his heart.
Jamadagni was true to himself and also the Kartavirya was.

I was researching the Dvadasa Sthotra and landed on your blog.
Raja Kartivirarjuna was the direct manifestation of Sudarshana Chakra. The Lord ordained him to take birth on earth when he questioned the lord as to what was the need for the lord to take incarnations and strain himself, when he could order his dasas (servants through total surrender to the Lord) to handle Dharma.
The reason for “SHREE HARI” to incarnate is to protect dharma and to protect the weak and righteous.
For Dharma samstapana to occur you need an Antagonist, enter Raja Kartivirarjuna. The samstapana was required as the Kshatriyas had become Cruel.
We need to look within the puranas to realize the Antarya.

This mantra is really powerful and works 100%. I have lost/misplaced several items and just by chanting the name of kArtavIryArjunO nAma three times, some power guides me to immediate vicinity of the lost object.
Wish I had a mantra to get new job in present job market before my H1B expires.

Hari Om. Remembering the Syamantaka Mani Aakhyanam – the story of the Syamantaka Jewel – is supposed to help one recover lost items. I have personally narrated this story to those who panicked after losing valuables and found instant results. The Syamantaka Mani was received by Satrajit, the father of Satyabhama, from Soorya Bhagavan. The receiver of this divine Mani was required to maintain mental and physical purity at all times. It would also shower 80 bharas of gold each day. Krishna advised Satrajit to turn over the Mani to the ruler of the kingdom. Such items are considered to be public and not private property. Satrajit refused but was also afraid of Krishna and the gave the mani to his brother, Prasena. Prasena was subsequently killed by a lion, when on an hunting expedition (violated the purity requirement during the course of hunting). The lion took the mani away. It was then killed by Jambavan, who lived in a cave nearby. He took the mani and gave it as a toy to hang over the swing of his baby. When Mani was gone, and Prasena did not return, Satrajit accused Krishna of stealing the mani. Krishna then went in search of the mani, found Jambavan and fought with him and retrieved the mani after Jambavan realized that his dear Rama (he could not see Krishna) had come to his cave. Jambavan offered the mani to Krishna and also offered his daughter Jambavati in marriage. Krishna returned to Dwarka with the mani. Satrajit was ashamed and, following Jambavan, he eventually offered his daughter Satyabhama’s hand in marriage to Krishna. This is the brief version of this Aaakhyanam. Remember this and acaryas say that you will recover what is lost. Also continue this parayanam until lost items are restored to you. Hari Om.

Keep remembering this Syamantaka Mani story, as often as possible. There is a short sloka that summarizes the story and it is lullaby (song for a child) to Jambavan’s child sung by Jambavati, who was taking care of the child. It goes like this.
Simho Prasenam avadheeh Simho Jambavataa hatah l
Sumkumaraka maa rodheeh tava esha Symantakah ll
The lion killed Prasena, the lion was killed by Jambavan. You my child, don’t cry, this Symantaka is yours and yours alone.

Let me tell you my experience on this.
My husband had bought a gold earring from US. It was a long and thin hanging type. On the day i wore it last year, after work , i boarded the volvo bus back home, visited the chemist shop and walked back home only to realize that one ring was lost. I have a little daughter, i had also played with her after coming back home. She had broken quite a few in the past, so i searched all the possible places at home but in vain. I had begun to say just the word “Kartivirarjuna” repeatedly. I went out to trace it back atleast until the bus stand. A 1/4 distance to the bus stop, i saw a shining object right in the middle of the busy residential road where i had walked past 30-40 mins ago. It was my earring. I believe this a lot.
Another incident which happened a few days back. My co-sister had lost a gold earring and this was also realized after she came back from work. I asked her to say “Kartivirarjuna” repeatedly and have her faith on it. She did the same..she looked all over the house, swept the room / living room etc, but in vain. She also went back to the bus stop, but nothing was found. After she came back, she found it lying at the edge of the carpet in the living room.

Hi Friends, I lost my entire gold 1.5 yrs back. From then onwards, i have been asking so many prasna astrologers and all, and most of them say it is stolen by 2 persons in the family. Didnt give police complaint due to personal reasons. Some of the astrologers still say that i would get it back.
I chanted this Kartaveeryarjuna sloka for a whole day..but didnot recover any. Can anybody suggest me if anything else is there so that i can get it back??

Really sad to know that someone in your clinic is the culprit. The person may have noted it in your draw. Don’t ever tempt people this way. Large amounts of money should not be kept in easy access. Apart from reciting this sloka and praying to Aanjaneya [Hanuman- who found Sita in Lanka - the sundarakaanda is a powerful prayer if done with faith] you may also announce loudly in your clinic that you are going to grind red chillies in Maasani Amman temple near Coimbatore and that the culprit will start burning all over his body…..this is truth. If you tell this loudly in everyone’s hearing, the money will be kept back in place. Let me know if you succeed. At least it will frighten the person enough to return the money.

Hi all,
I lost my gold sovereigns and siver rupee which I ordered from UK. The customs and India post office stole it thus leaving me an empty envelope.

I was duped of several lacs of rupees- my hard earned money -in fact my life time savings by a Bihari thug named SHYAM BIHARI YADAV.

I tried to search my diamond in platinum ear ring I had lost all hopes of finding it.- Guess what?First I found in a deep corner of my bag another gold ear ring that I had never even realized they were missing and then also my diamond ear ring that I missed all the while-it is my most favorite.

Dear Ayesha, let god help you for early recovery of lost item. I lost a small gold ornament under similar circumstance, but after losing, after several months, I came to know through an astrologer that it is good that I lost it, because that lost ornament was inauspicious for me. Value of the lost ornament was only a few thousands, but there was benefit of getting rid of inauspicious ornament. God bless you. Sometimes, loss itself becomes blessing.

Two motor-bike borne persons snatched my wife’s gold chain which is worth around 2.5 lakhs in today’s value, last month on 13th, near my house. Police are just giving me some soothing replies and are assuring me that they are doing their best to recover the same. It is now more than 3 week since this unfortunate thing happened with me. I took out and chanted this mantra whenever I could for 3 days.. and on the third day while cleaning my kitchen I found my chain. Dear Meeraghu, I have my best prayers for recovery of your lost ornament(s). In one case, when I lost some key bunch, an astrologer gave excellent hint to trace the location where the bunch was misplaced. I suggest that, along with prayer, you may also contact some astrologer.

I was reading the sloka and the numerous positive updates regarding its efficacy. So I thought of posting my experiences.
1. It has always worked for me in recovering lost items. Once I was on tour to various temples and one night realized that my gold chain was missing. I had only vacated a lodge that morning and after checking all places I came to the conclusion that it must have been misplaced in that lodge only. to sweep it clean so I didnt have much hope. Anyway I fervently chanted this sloka several times and again did a casual search. Wonder of wonderd! It fell out of a shirt hanging in a clothesline! No way could I have placed it in that shirt. But Karthaveeryarjuna Swami placed it there and helped me. It is one of the slokas that constantly reminded me that slokas do work.

Hi
This is the first time , I came across this mantra. i have lost lot of jewellery at home . Its been almost 2 years now. Some family member has taken it . I was feeling restless whenever I thought of the incedent and was searching for mantra to seek almighty’s help to recover the same and avoid cusring the person who has stolen it. This morning my friend told me that she has lost her mobile handset and i was chanting this and prayed lord. She got it back.
I am sure this will help me recover my lost items. i will chant this till i get them back.

My passport is missing. I have never lost my passport in my entire life. I have visas to several countries which i need and its going to take a long time and cost to re-do everything. I was due to leave for a trip on Jan 2 and had to cancel the flight. A friend said she asked a psychic who said it was stolen, that I had not accidently dropped it or ‘lost’ it.
I just want it back intact and in good shape. I found this thread by googling some key words. Is this what I need to chant ?:OM KARTHVEEERYAARJUNYO NAMAH
I’d like to know who took it, I have suspicions but no proof.. that is secondary. The most important thing is the passport is returned to me before Monday.
Is there anything else I should be chanting?

There was a theft at my dad’s residence when he was out of station.my dad lost all his gold and silver.i saw the sloka in the website and started reciting.i shall surely post my experience if any positive thing happens
