Marriage Sloka, Child Sloka

Ms. Shubha Sridhara has contributed these two slokas.  Thanks Ms. Shubha.

Attached below is Ms. Shubha’s document as she sent it to me.

Dear friends,

As I some requests for early marriage and for having children ,I had some shlokas regarding this. The shlokas are very simple and can be recited  after taking a bath, while doing the  puja to Goddess Lakshmi or Goddess Gowri. Many of my relatives have done this and are happy with the results. I too have done this. I have recited these shlokas many a times, so it is by heart.

This  shloka is for early marriage :

Kathyayini mahamaye maha yoginyadhishwari |

Nanda gopa sutam devi pathim may kurute namaha||

This shloka is for having a child:

Devendrani  namastubhyam  devendra  priya bhamini |

Vivaham bhagyamarogyam putra labham cha dehi may||

    Dear sister Meera,

In the second line of the Shloka for getting a child it says

Vivaham bhagyamarogyam putra labham cha dehi may||

Now why would one ask for Vivaham when asking for a child ?

Or is it give me Vivaham Bhagyam ( fortune of marriage ), arogryam ( Health ) and putra labham ( gaining male child )

Would appreciate if you can clarify.

    Regards,
    Jay

As far as I know there are no specifications like 3 times a day,108 times or 48 days. There is nothing like it.What I did was take a bath ,wear washed clothes ,do pooja and tell the shloka with faith & devotion.
Some people say we have to do sankalpa,if done better. For starters, just do for a day or 3 days.Tell the sankalpa details which is found in this site ; at the end of the sankalpa u should tell for having a child.Sankalpa means the particulars of the day, year & so on ,to which God and seek his blessings to achieve our goal.
Finally ,a prayer to Lord Ganesha that the pooja proceeds smoothly without hassles.
My prayers & wishes to you.Hope to hear good news at the earliest.
      Shubha Satish

    Hi,

The above is garbharakshambiga solka. Garbarakshambiga temple is at Thirukarugavur, Tamil Nadu. The sloka is for everything.. marriage, health ,children. This can be recited at any time.. The story goes like this, goddess parvathi saves the garbha of her devotee which had fallen because of a curse…saving both mother and the child. Hence garbharakshambiga!. Childless couple visit this temple and offer special poojas.

The full sloka is as follows:

    Om Devendrani namsthubhyam,
    Devendra priya bamini
Vivaha bhagyam, aroghyam, putra laabam cha dehimey
    pathim dehey sutham, dehey sowbhagyam,
    dehimey shubhay sow mangalyam,
    Shubham gnyanam dehimey,
    Garbharakshage, kathyayini, mahamaye maha yoginyadheeshwari,
nandagopam sutham devim bathimey guruthey namaha

    Regards,
    Padmaja

I am not aware of it. But you could recite Sri Vishnu Sahasranama, Sri Madhwanama,Sri Raghavendra Swamy shloka/ Sri Poornabodha on a daily basis. I am trying to collect some more poojas from my family and post to Ms. Meera.
