Emergency Visit to India

It has been a couple of weeks since I updated the blog. We had to visit India on June 16th 2011. My Mother-in-law who was ill passed away on June 15th 2011. It was the most shocking news for our family. We had talked to her on Skype on June 13th and she kept asking us when we were visiting India. We had planned our visit to India on September 11 2011, and had our vacations approved also.

Like they say, birth and death wait for no one. My mother-in-law was in the ICU for 2 days, and was discharged on June 15th 2011. She talked to two of my co-sisters until midnight. However, around 6.30 AM when they saw no movement at all, she was gone. She passed away in her sleep. She was 84 years old.

We all traveled to India and reached there on 17th night. We were not able to see her, but my Husband was able to perform all the rituals along with his 5 brothers. It was the most tough 2 weeks for us.

I have seen several messages and comments, and so wanted to keep you all posted about this as well.

I will get back to the blog in a couple of weeks.

P.S: Just wanted to let everyone who commented here, and sent personal emails that your comments and email helped a lot. It meant a lot for me and my family. There are no words to express my gratitude to one and all. I was unable to reply to each one of you personally, but hereby thank everyone.
