Vishnu Sahasranama

Today being Friday I work from home. I was listening to Vishnu Sahasranama, and I got a phone call from Rick from Javalobby. He asked me what I was listening to and I told him about the same.

If you’re not sure what it is here are some details about the same.

The Vishnu sahasranāma means thousand names of Vishnu. It is also one of the most sacred and commonly chanted stotras in Hinduism. It is widely accepted that the chanting of this Stotra gives relief from all sorrows and leads to happiness and peace of mind. Vishnu sahasranama is in conformity with the teachings of the BhagavadGita.

If you like to listen to the stotra, here is the link, click on Vishnu sahasranama at the right hand corner :

If you would like to learn the same, here is a link for the stotra in English:

If you would like to know even more about it, here is a link on wikipedia.

This is indeed what i was looking out for quite sometime. I really appreciate the efforts in sorting this blog in the most useful manner. I am thankful for also providing the Vishnu Sahasranamam links / english versions to benefit one and all. Another feather in the cap would be to link the ‘Andaal Thiruppavvai’ as well.

Just wanted to point out humbly – I feel there is an error in the stanza:

    shantaakaram bhujagasayanam….

the second line reads – vishwaakaaram , I think it should be vishwaadhaaram , pls check and correct if reqd.
