Apple Banana Milk Shake

An apple a day keeps the Doctor away right? There is scientific evidence that It has been found that eating apples helps to reduce blood cholesterol, improve bowel function, reduce risk of stroke, prostate cancer, Type II diabetes and asthma. This is due to the fiber and phytonutrients present in the apples.

Bananas on the other hand, provide both energy and nutrition without fat. They are also a good source of vitamin C, vitamin B6, potassium and dietary fiber.

So, why not combine both of them and get all the benefits. So, here comes the recipe for a simple Apple Banana Shake, which really keeps you full for a long time. On days when I have had a heavy lunch, I just drink one glass of this shake and go to bed.

Ingredients:

Low fat milk or 2% Milk or even Plain water – 1/2 cup
Apples – 2
Bananas – 2
Sugar -3 tsp or as per taste ( I used Splenda 3 pkts)
Ground cardamom/Elachi powder- 1/4 tsp

Method

  1. Cut the apples into small pieces removing the seeds.
  2. Cut the Bananas also into big chunks.
  3. Combine ingredients in blender; cover and blend until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle with cardamom.
  5. You can also add 2 scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream instead of milk or water. That also tastes really good.
