Palayachyutha palayajitha Stotra

This is one of the many songs I learnt from my Father. He sings this stotra with so much devotion during Shri Krishna Janmashtami. I can still feel and listen to my Father singing this every year. I am going to record the same and also post it in youtube when I visit him soon. Until than, here are the lyrics in English for this famous stotra written by Shri Vadiraja Thirtharu on Lord Krishna of Udupi.

Palayachyutha palayajitha palaya kamalalaya,
Leelaya drutha bhoodharamburuhodhra swajanodhara ||pa||

Madhwa manasa padma bhanu samam smara prathimam(sam) smara
Snighdha nirmala seethe kanthila sanmukham karunonmukham

    Jai Ma

    Download Palayachutha Sloka :

English commentaries and translation by Hunsur Sri Prasada

This is the most detailed and accurate commentary, English/ Sanskrit, of the Palayachyuta Stotra, i have been able to find.

Despite writing to the site, one huge disadvantage is that the commentary, etc. is encrypted, locked down, protected who knows what.

Hunsur Sri Prasad should know, or understand that anything coming from his mind is the PRASADA of the HOLY LORD and NOT hunsur sri prasada’s personal property. TO claim something as personal property, especially on a site such as Sri Guru Raghavendra, is gross seva aparadha. We Indians try to mix business, personal ownership, with seva. Like shitting on naivedya. Of all aparadha, seva aparadha is the worst.

Hope this filters up into the right ears, sooner rather than later, through the excellent Maddhva grapevine.

Otherwise, this is a superb piece of exegetical work that should be made a standard, for studying the Palachyuta, in DEPTH, word for word.

    Hare Srinivasa

Hare Krsna dear Meera Mataji! It’s been 9 months for me in this holy land of Udupi and I am simply overwhelmed with this place and the wonderful people here.
Then due to Krsna and by Guru Srila Prabhupad’s mercy I found this wonderful page of yours which is full of nectar! My shastamgams to your feet dear Meera Mataji for your divine effort!
    Jai Udupi Krsna!

  16. I heard a lady recite a shloka/song which refers to Raupyapeeta. It was sung in Udupi krishna mutt during the evening Aarti. I have been since trying to find out which shloka or song that is. so far palayachuta seems to be the only place where Raupyapeeta is mentioned. The song so wonderful that it has implanted in my mind and am not able to feel at peace till I discover it..

  19. Hi,
I came up on your site while searching for the song Palayachyutha. Thank you for the lyrics. I am searching for the same song sung my Mrs. Ratnamala Prakash. Getting an audio tape or CD is proving very difficult. I believe it is from the album Palamrutha (spelling may be incorrect). Do you have a link for that song or album or know where I can get a copy of that song?

Hope you find it. If I do find a weblink, will post it here.
