I have not seen the lyrics for this song in any of the books I have. I was given a book by my maternal grandfather when I was 13 years old which has all the wonderful songs about Shri Raghavendra Swamy. Even when I was 13, I was singing all the songs on rayaru, and my grandfather who used to read all the lyrics from this book decided to give it to me. My grandfather was a great devotee of Rayaru. I am sure he will be happy to know that I have shared this song with you all. He died of bone cancer when I was just 15 years old.
As you will see in the pdf, it is very very old and has travelled with me to many countries. Not sure how to preserve the same either. The song has been posted on youtube also, you can listen to the same to learn the tune as well.
So, here is the link below for the pdf and also the video on youtube.
Pahi Pahi Raghavendra Guru – Shri Raghavendra Guru Bhajane

I would very much love to have a copy of ‘Pahi Pahi Sri Ragavendra Guru’ in English. I see the earlier posts were sometime in 2008-9. Hence i guess the English Translation would have been made already. If so pl send it to my email.
thanks and all the wishes for your great effort

Gayathri,
Yes, I scanned the pages from the book I had and posted it. It has not been translated to English. I haven’t had anytime at all. I will try to do so.

Hello
It will really be great if someone translates this song to English. I like this song but would be able to relate better to the words if I understood all of it instead only parts of it :).
Is there any such translation available online ?.
Thanks
Yogesh

Dear Meera,
It was a pleasure listening to ‘pahi pahi’ . I used to sing this with my maternal grandmother when I was 7yrs old nearly 47 yrs back. Somewhere down the years I lost the lyrics and the song. But it was never out of my mind. Listening to it today brought tears to my eyes. Can you please email the lyrics to me in written in English like “pahi pahi raghavendra guru” and so on. I cannot read Kannada but can understand the same. So finding the lyrics in Kannada was a bit disappointing to me.All the same
God Bless You,
Gayatri Shenoy.

Gayatri.
I don’t think I have the lyrics in English. I just scanned the book I had, and uploaded here. I will definitely translate into English when I have some free time. It has become too hectic on my side the past month after my return from India trip.

the last page/ending of “pahi pahi” is missing I think…. it should go something like …
mangala sadguna saandra guro, ghana karunanidhi kalpa taru guro jayamangala raghavendra guro…shubha mangala raghavendra guro..
I still remember it !!!! I use to chant it every day when I was a kid, so happy to see it after all these years..

Dear Rukmini,
I am hoping the Sanmana Karyakrama went very well in Mantralaya. If you have pictures of the same, please do share them with me. I will be blessed to post them here, and thousands of visitors to this blog will be blessed to see them as well.
I talked to my parents and told them about your family. My mother said she would love to visit you all when she makes a trip to Mysore. She was very happy to know who had written the song which she has been singing all these years.
My parents are also great devotees of Rayaru, I still remember my Mom doing Rayara Seva, and my sister and I sitting next to her and singing all the devotional songs.
Please do send me more details, and any songs your father and grandfather have written. I will be post them here.
I am hoping to see you all in 2009. Thanks again.
