Pushya Nakshatra – Sunday November 8th 2009

For those of you who are devotees of Shri Raghavendra Swamy, this Sunday is a great day to please him. This Sunday, is the day when Pushya Nakshatra is, and Rayaru will be very pleased if you devote some time performing meditation, saying his Ashtotras or just doing Japa and saying ” Sri Raghavendraya Namaha”.
To quote from the email I received from my Sister Suma,

We have a golden opportunity this Sunday to please Sri Raghavendra SwamigaLu.
As the saying goes “make hay while sun shines”, Sunday 11/08/2009, there is Pushya naxatra and Sri rAyaru will be extremely pleased with jnAna kAryas.
Sriamdh AppanAcharya in Shri rAyara sthora says:
“sOma sUryO parAgEcha PushyArkAdhi samAgame”
which means when pushya naxatra and Sunday intersects, performing Sri rAyara stothra, asthothara, jnAna kAryas etc . will please our Shri rAyaru.

We can get the blessings of Shri rAyaru by doing (yathA shakthi) pArAyana / Punascharana of Sri rAyara Sthotra, reciting Sri rAyara AstOthara and doing the pArAyana of Sri rAyara gramthas.

PS: All times and dates are per USA time zones.
In the seva of Sri Hari, vAyu and gurugalu,
Bala Krishna

So, what are you waiting for, wake up early on Sunday, and meditate and get the blessings from our Beloved Rayaru.

  7. Hare Srinivasa

I need a small clarification. As per your information Sunday 8.11.2009 there was Pushya Nakshatra. But in panchanga Punarvasu Nakshatra was shown. Which is correct. As per which panchanga you have got Pushya Nakshathra? Anyway we have performed Sri Rayara Ashtothara. For chanting rayara nama and ashtothara every day is Pushyarka Yoga.

    Mr. Nagesh Masoor,
Did you see this line” PS: All times and dates are per USA time zones.”. Check Monday Nov 9th 2009 in the Uttaradi Matt Calendar . It is Pushya Nakshatra. In the United States, where I live it was on Sunday due to timezone differences. I don’t know how to calculate all those, and hence pasted the contents of the email I received.

However, since everyday is Pushya Nakshatra as per your view, it shouldn’t make any difference to you at all.

    Hello Meera,

I hope this helps. I follow this website and uttardi math calender. It has been quite useful for me.

The kala timings, thithi etc are based on the sunrise and sunset of your city , in US and even the

daylight saving is included. You can find the panchanga in kannada too. The link is

http://www.mypanchang.com/panchang2009.html. You can click your city and find the panchanga in

kannada. It mainly helped me in finding the rahu kala etc..

    I hope this helps.

  10. Hi Meera,

I ran into your website when I was looking for shri rayaru’s slokas. Your website is simply great. It is so informative. Thanks for sharing. I am currently going through a very tough time. As each day passes, I think, this is the worst day and tomorrow would be better. But I am proved wrong. I am beginning to suspect my way of offering prayers and sometimes losing hopes on my prayers. Would you have any recommendations for regular prayers. I know it sounds stupid but I need it badly. Look forward for your response.

      Hi AP,
Have faith in the Almighty. Tough times are hard to pass, and if you have faith in Lord, it lessens to some extent.

I have always read ” Rayara Ashtotra, and Stotra” when facing tough times. It has given me strength and mental piece. So, I suggest reading the same to you as well.

May the Lord bless you and give you the strength in this tough time.
