Ganesha Festival Pictures – 2016

It was a festive day yesterday. Just the thought of doing pooje to our Lord Ganesha lit up the mind and the house. As always, the blog, the computer and the phone assisted us in many many ways. 🙂

Attached are some pictures of the greatest festival at my place. This year we decided to bring Ganesha instead of using the Gold idol one we used to use. We plan on bringing the same from now on.

We had relatives and friends for pooje in the morning and evening. We served food on Banana leaf from our own garden. As always I had prepared food as per our tradition –

  • Moong Dal Kosambari
  • Channa Dal Kosambari
  • Beans Palya
  • Seme Badnekayi Palya
  • Idli
  • Chatni
  • Chitranna
  • Payasa
  • Modaka
  • Kadabu
  • Saru
  • Kootu
  • Happala Sabdhudana Sandige
  • And Yogurt

Hope you all had a blessed Ganesha festival.

We had a similar menu,,, except idli, chutney ,,and kootu,, ( Usuallu it is “Idli chutney bittu berey Agadu” ). By the way , what exactly is the difference between Modaka & Kadubu,, Is it only the shape or even in the filling?

  4. Thanks for sharing it. We too did Ganesa Pooja, but it is not so wonderful like your decoration. I hope Lord Ganesh would bless all and would help us to do our chores without obstacle.

Hello Meera, very adorable Ganesh Moorthy. I wish if you could once make a video of your pooja prep and post on your blog. I wish to know what goes first with your decorations and how to get started with gejje vastra, etc. Thanks in advance.
