Update : Sree Raghavendra Swamy Birthday – February 22nd 2018

Rayaru 1

The birthday of our beloved Rayaru is on February 22nd 2018. Since the past 9 years, I have been posting regularly about giving a Birthday Gift to our Rayaru. What might a person like Rayaru need you may ask? He needs nothing materialistic since he left all those very early in his life. He needs our utmost love and devotion and sincere Bhakthi. And now you have an opportunity to show all these to our beloved Rayaru by giving him a gift which he loves immensely.

Yes, I and many in my family have been giving a little bit our time and chanting “Sree Raghavendraya Namaha” a minimum of 16,000 times. Once you complete the chanting, any number greater than 16,000 offer it our be beloved Rayaru. Start chanting and get the blessings from Sree Raghavendra Swamy.

Some tips on how I do the Japa Count:

1. Chant in the morning, and in the evening. Keep a notepad and write down how many you have chanted. I usually have an excel spreadsheet since it makes easy to count. No writing, just recite “Sree Raghavendraya Namaha”.

2. No head bath everyday, regular thing you do for every day Pooja. In the evening, no bath, again whatever you do to perform evening pooja. Wash your face, hands and legs and perform the chanting in the evening.

3. If I miss chanting a few days, I will make up the count during the weekends when I have time.

4. I recited 1080 times everyday in the morning. I have a Japa Mala with 108 beads, so used to chant 10 rounds everyday morning.

P.S: please send info@saptaaha.com with your japa count. Thanks Harsha Avare.

Hello Meera – Very happy to see your continuous service to our beloved Rayaru. Just wanted to share that me & my husband got a chance to see our Gurugalu on his birthday in Mantralaya. Even though we booked to visit him in early Feb’17 – booking got cancelled due to some reason & next we got time to book during 4th / 5th March’17. We were completely unaware of his birthday & realized a week before. No other Punya i will ask for this life than being part of celebrations & prasada on his birthday. We could do seva wholeheartedly for 2 days & purposefully not planned any other visits nearby. With this, we both could chant Rayara stotra – ” Sree poornaboudha.. ” 108 times ( 54 each ) & 108 namakaras ( 54 each ).. positivity doubled & felt blessed. I wish all the readers pleasant blessings of Rayarau.. Sarve Janaha Sukhino Bhavanthu..

    Hello Meerasu avare,
I plan to start chanting from March 4 2027 on Raghavendra Swamy’s bday . Should we chant Om Shri Raghavndraya Namaha or only Shri Raghavndraya Namaha?

Thank you so much for Kalpavriksha Kamadhenu. Kalpavriksh Kamadhenu is a treasure trove of information for Hindus. I learn about pooja rituals, rangoli designs, mouth-watering recipes, and devotional songs from Kalpavriksha Kamadhenu.

In Atlanta , there is a huge group of Rayara’s devotees. Mr. Pradeep Vittalmurthy and his wife Rekha Pradeep organize amazing divine programms in Hanuman Mandir, Ganapathi temple , and Hindu Temple of Atlanta . Recently, I was blessed to see Seeta Rama Kalyanostava. Musical concerts are regularly organised. Two months ago, we heard divine songs from Raichur Sheshgiri Das. Raghavendra Swamy Aradhane is celebrated in a very grand manner.

Unfortunately, many devotees are not aware of this organization. It would be great if you could put this information on Kalpavriksha Kamadhenu, so that other devotees from Atlanta and neighbouring states can be part of the devotional programmes.

    Devotees can contact Pradeep Vittalmurthy at 404 – 939 – 2833 or e-mail at info@atlantarayaramath.org

    Thank you so much!

  12. Namaskar Amma. As I have no email of you, I am writing here. There is one great writer called Amman Sathianathan in Chennai. He was writing stotras on Devis and some articles. Rayar blessed him one day in swapna and enquired when he was going to write about Him. I think you are aware of this writer. He is Kannada Madhwa from Veeracholapuram where Sri Satyanatha Teerthara brindavana is there (Uttaradi Mutt). Then onwards he started writing Mantralaya prabhu’s mahimegalu in the form of big book of 250 pages in Tamil. These were selling as hot cakes and heavy demand came from those not knowing Tamil asking for translation in English. One retired Bank Manager in Chennai named Laxman, just as a hobby was translating the Tamil Volume I and somehow message went to Sathianathan and he gave the assignment to him. So far Nine volumes were written and released and all of them were translated and released in English also. The first volume contains the life history of Rayaru and miracles in the life of some devotees. Second volume onwards a lot of Madhwa saints and dasas were covered with linkage to Rayar apart from miracles perfomed in the lives of devotees in testing time as well as miracles in the prathistapana of various Rayar Mutts in India. I humbly feel that all Rayar devotees have to read these books.

If you have already read, kindly excuse me. If not, I shall bring all the Nine volumes as a ‘gift’ to you.

    Om Sri Raghavendraya Namaha

  15. How did you celebrate our Guru’s Birthday at home? Have invited anybody for participating on Pooja. I had celebrated as much as I can. I made Milk gova and Wheat payasam, they I did Ashtothoram by yellow Akshathai, and I did my counting silver coin (108) 12 times, and sank some song on my guru Ragavendra, still I have got a plan to chant “Vishnu Sakasranam & Ragavendra Bajan song”. Really I felt very happy and I prayed for all. To-day is International Women’s Day too, I wish you for the same since you have been achieving a lot in all your activities, it’s also blessing of our Rayur. Go ahead and make good compliments to all.

    Thank you

    Thank you so much !!!

  24. Thank you very much for our gift to our Guru for his birthday, which cannot be valued by money and other thing. I am very happy to do that Japa Öm Sri Ragavendra Namaha”. I am telling my suggestion, we can also count like this, see the clock time or cell time and count how many times you can recite in one minute, like that we can calculate 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes. This way also we can do chanting.
I will try my best to chant/count nama regularly till our Rayur’s Birthday. After that it will become routine to chant his nama daily few hours.
