Sri Raghavendra Stotra is recited regularly by millions of people worldwide, especially on Thursdays. In two different verses, Sri Appanacharyaru provides us with clear guidance on how to obtain the blessings of Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu.

ಯಃ ಪಿಬೇಜ್ಜಲಮೇತೇನ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರೇಣೈವಾಭಿಮಂತ್ರಿತಮ್ |

ತಸ್ಯ ಕುಕ್ಷಿಗತಾ ದೋಷಾಃ ಸರ್ವೇ ನಶ್ಯಂತಿ ತತ್ ಕ್ಷಣಾತ್ || ೨೪ ||

yaha pibejjalametena stotrenaivaabhimantritam | 

tasya kukshigataa doshaaha sarve nashyanti tatkshanaat || 24 || 

As you recite the stotra place a sliver glass or cup which is used only for God, fill it with water and place your hands on the cup as you recite this entire stotra. This will become Padodaka. The verse says – Drinking this padodaka will cure devotees all the diseases, whether they are from this Janma or previous birth. The Abhimantrita Padodaka has so much power is what Sri Appanacharyaru is saying in this verse.

ಏತತ್ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಂ ಸಮುಚ್ಚಾರ್ಯ ಗುರೋರ್ವೃಂದಾವನಾಂತಿಕೇ |

ದೀಪಸಂಯೋಜನಾಜ್ಞಾನಂ ಪುತ್ರಲಾಭೋ ಭವೇದ್ಧ್ರುವಮ್ || ೨೭ ||

yetat strotram samuchchaarya gurorvrindaavanaantike | 

deepasamyojanaajgynaanam putralaabho bhaveddhruvam || 27 || 

Before you start chanting the stotra light two ghee lamps in front of Rayaru. Whether you have a Photo, or Mrutike Brindavana or have books written by Rayaru. In this verse, Sri Appanacharyaru is saying –  Devottess will be blessed with great knowledge and good offspring. Please don’t confuse that since the verse says Putra it is a son, it means good kids. 

So, remember two things while reciting Sri Raghavendra Stotra:

1. Silver cup with water, covering that with your hand while reciting the stotra. Becomes Abhimantrita Padodaka and once done with your pooja, take it three times and give it to everyone in your household.
2. Light 2 ghee lamps before reciting the stotra in front of Rayaru.

Both the above steps are crystal clear. Shouldn’t take any time at all if you are already reciting the stotra. For those who don’t know how to recite, there are numerous online recordings, play the audio, print out the stotra in the language you know, and follow the above guidelines.

Sri Ramanudisi Banda Ayodhyeli Ramanudisi Banda | Ajnapita Vittala Dasaru | Ayodhya Rama

This song is quite fitting for what took place in Ayodhya two days ago. Lord Rama ultimately arrived to Ayodhya after about 500 years to settle there forever. My father said, quite correctly, that while Lord Rama had to spend 14 years in vanavasa during the Treta Yuga, he had to wait more than 500 years to return during the Kali Yuga. The entire globe welcomed him lovingly from every corner, as our beloved Rama truly deserved to be welcomed this way.
