Over the past several months, I have been taking some time to record rare songs my Father sings. He has learnt numerous songs while we went to Purana in 4th block Jayanagar. He used to recite it every single day after performing Saligrama Pooje and Mom used to enjoy listening.

On December 29, 2012 Ms. Chaitra asked about this song, and neelpai posted the lyrics on December 31, 2012. I heard about the song today on our Swamigalu. I had tears as I was listening to song and watching our Swamigalu.

Ms. Padma Rao shared the video yesterday for this song and since than I haven’t been able to take it off my mind and have been singing it non-stop. Here is a tribute to our Swamigalu who did Krishna Seve for almost 81 years.

Over the past few days, we in our Rayaru satsangha group had been discussing about Dr.Rajkumar’s devotional songs on our beloved Rayaru. We have all grown up listening to Dr. Rajkumar’s song on the radio. My sister and I used to recite the songs during the Bhajane we used to have at our place. Even though it doesn’t have any ankitha, it just brings back such great emotion and Bhakti listening to his songs.

Yesterday during satsangha, we decided to sing at least one song and I started with Nee Thande Na Kandha. However, we couldn’t get the lyrics for any of the songs sung by Dr. Rajkumar. So, I decided to post all of them one after another here and here comes the very first one.

I had written about this very famous song we used to listen my parents sing and we ourselves used to sing this for all these years. I had posted about this song on June 22nd 2010, close to 9 years back. Read about the post here:

I had been searching for the lyrics for a long long time and never found it. Over the past three weeks since I was on vacation, I used to recite this song so many times. I talked to my mom today morning as well and she said there was no such song and we just used to sing it. I had also blogged about the first paragraph in my blog (Link above), and no one could find the lyrics.

The past three days, I kept singing this in my dream constantly. Today, I decided to write down the lyrics I was singing and look how amazingly the song came out. I thought it was just a dream, but when I kept getting the same dream and repeating the lyrics, I decided to write it down finally. I recorded the song, and posted it on youtube.

 

I know the song has no ankitha, shouldn’t be sung is what everyone says. For me, this is the most dearest song of my beloved Rayaru. It brings tears to me when I sing this. I am posting it so I can keep track of it. Hope you all understand my sentiments.

ನಿತ್ಯ ದೇವರ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡ ಬಯಸುವವರು. ಹಾಗು ಕಾಲದ ಒತ್ತಡ ಇರುವವರು ಮೂವತ್ತು ನಿಮಿಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕೆಳಕಂಡಂತೆ ದೇವರ ಪೂಜೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಬಹುದು. (ಸಂಗ್ರಹ)

1. ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ

ಅಪವಿತ್ರ: ಪವಿತ್ರೊ ವಾ ಸರ್ವಾವಸ್ಥಾಂ ಗತೊಪಿ ವಾ |
ಯ: ಸ್ಮರೆತ್ ಪುಂಡರೀಕಾಕ್ಷಂ ಸ ಬಾಹ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಂತರ-ಸುಚಿ: ||

ಮಧ್ಯೆ ಮಾತ್ರು-ಗಣಃ-ಸ್ಮ್ರುತಃ ಕುಕ್ಷೊವ್ತು-ಸಾಗರ-ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಪ್ತ-ದ್ವಿಪ-ವಸುಂಧರ
ಋಗ್-ವೇದೋ ಯಜುರ್-ವೇದಹ ಸಾಮ-ವೇದೋ-ಹ್ಯಾಧರ್ವಣಾ
ಅಂಗೈಶ್ಚ-ಸಹಿತ-ಸರ್ವೇ ಕಲಶಂತು ಸಮಶ್ರಿತ: ಅತ್ರ ಗಾಯತ್ರಿ ಸಾವಿತ್ರಿ ಶಾಂತಿ: ಪುಶ್ಠಿ-ಕರೀತತಾ||
ಆಯಂತು ದೇವ ಪುಜಾರ್ಥಮ್ ದುರಿಥಕ್ಷಯ ಕಾರಕ: ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಮುದರಾ: ಶ್ರಿಥಹ: ತೀರ್ಥಾನಿ ಜಲ ಧನದಹ ಅತ್ರ ಸನ್ನಿಥ ಸಂತು:
ಗಂಗೇಚ-ಯಮುನೇ ಚೈವ ಗೋದಾವರಿ ಸರಸ್ವತಿ ನರ್ಮದಾ ಸಿಂಧು-ಕಾವೇರಿ ಜಲೆಸ್ಮಿನ್ ಸನಿಧಂ-ಕುರು:
ವಿಖ್ಯತ: ಪಂಚಗಂಗಾ ಪ್ರಕಿರ್ತಿತ: ಕಲಶೋದಕೇಣ ಪುಜಾ ದ್ರವಯಾನಿ ಸಮ್ಪ್ರೊಕ್ಶ್ಯ, ದೇವಂ, ಅತ್ಮಂಚ ಸಮ್ಪ್ರೊಕ್ಶ್ಯ

5. ಶಂಖಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಲ್ಯವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯುವುದು.

ಪಾಂಚಜನ್ಯಯ ವಿದ್ಮಹೇ ಪಾವಮಾನಾಯ ಥೀಮಹೀ, ತನೌ: ಶಂಕ: ಪ್ರಚೋದಯಾತ್

6. ನಂತರ ಸಾಲಿಗ್ರಾಮ, ದೇವರ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಖದ ತಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಅಭ್ಭೃಣೀ ಸೂಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಕಲಶದ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷೇಖ ಮಾಡುವುದು.

8. ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಅಲಂಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಹೂಗಳು, ಅಕ್ಷತೆ ತುಳಸಿಯಿಂದ, ಕೇಶವ ನಾಮಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು. ಸಮಯವಿದ್ದರೆ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಸಹಸ್ರನಾಮ, ಕೃಷ್ಣಾಷ್ಟಕ, ದ್ವಾದಶ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಹೇಳಬಹುದು.

9. ಧೂಪ

ವನಸ್ಪತ್ಯುದ್ಭವೊಂ ದಿವ್ಯೋ ಗಂಧಾಢ್ಯೋಗಂಧ ಊತ್ತಮ|
ಅಘ್ರೇಯಸ್ಸರ್ವ ದೇವನಾಂ ಧೂಪೊಯಂ ಪ್ರತಿಗೃಹ್ಯತಾಂ||

10. ದೀಪ ದೀಪವನ್ನು ಹಚ್ಚುವುದು.

ಸಾಜ್ಯಂ ತ್ರಿವರ್ತಿ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಂ ವಹ್ನಿನಾ ಯೊಜಿತಂ ಮಯಾ|
ದೀಪಂ ಗ್ರುಹಾಣ ದೇವೇಶ ತ್ರೈಲೋಕ್ಯ ತಿಮಿರಾಪಹ||

11. ನೈವೇದ್ಯ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಚೌಕಾಕಾರ ಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಅದರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಓಂ ಶ್ರೀ ಎಂದು ಬರೆದು ಅದರಮೇಲೆ ನೈವೇದ್ಯವನ್ನು (ತಟ್ಟೆ ಅಥವಾ ತಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಳೆ ಎಲೆಯಮೇಲೆ ) ಇಡಬೇಕು.

ಶ್ರೀ ವಾಸುದೇವನು ಅನ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಂಕರ್ಷಣನು ಇತರ ಭಕ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ , ಪ್ರದ್ಯುಮ್ನನು ಪಾಯಸದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅನಿರುದ್ಧನೂ ತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾರಾಯನು ಎಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.

12. ಪರಿಶಿಂಚಾಮಿ ನೈವೇದ್ಯದಮೇಲೆ ಕಳಸದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು. ಪ್ರತಿಭಾರಿ.

ವಿ.ಸೂ : 16 ತರಹದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ಷೋಡಶ ಉಪಚಾರ ಪೂಜೆ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಧ್ಯಾನ, ಆವಾಹನ, ಆಸನ, ಪಾದ್ಯ , ಅರ್ಘ್ಯ, ಆಚಮನ, ಸ್ನಾನ, ವಸ್ತ್ರ ಯಜ್ನೋಪವೀತ, ಗಂಧ, ಪುಷ್ಪ , ಧೂಪ, ದೀಪ, ನೈವೇದ್ಯ, ತಾಂಬೂಲ, ನೀರಾರ್ಜನ.

Vaikunta Ekadashi falls in the month December-January. This year it falls on December 18th 2018. This is observed with all solemnity in the temples of Lord Vishnu. Please check your local calendars to see when it falls.

Vaikunta Ekadashi is of great significance at the Tirupati Balaji Temple, and also all Balaji temples. They prepare what is called a “Swargada Bagilu” also called as ‘Vaikunta Dwaram’ or ‘the gate to the heaven‘ This gate is opened on this day. This is the passage encircling the innermost sanctum of the Lord. Scores of devotees queue up to pass through the Gate of Vaikunta in the temples.

For the devotees of Lord Vishnu, every Ekadashi is a very sacred day No rice should be eaten on Ekadashi days. This is very important.

Those who are unable to fast completely can take some light fruit and milk. So you may ask why we shouldn’t eat rice, so here comes the story for the same.

The sweat that fell down from the head of Brahma assumed the form of a demon and said to the Lord, “O Lord! now give me an abode to dwell.” Brahma replied, “O demon! go and dwell in the rice particles eaten by men on Ekadashi day and become worms in their stomach.” For this reason rice is prohibited on Ekadashi.

If you don’t believe in this story, just think of all the benefits you can get from fasting.

Fasting makes a man strong, both spiritually and mentally.Fasting controls passion. It checks the emotions. It controls the senses also. It is good to fast once in a while as it recuperates the body. Ekadashi observance cleans our body and the digestive organs get much needed rest.

Those people suffering from ailments and on medications should take the advice of a doctor before fasting. Never torture your body in the name of religion. There is nothing wrong in having fruits or milk. And you can bring a certain amount of flexibility in the way it is observed.

Every year once we finish the festival we look back and say lets plan simple next year, but come next year we try and perform the Ganesha festival with full force. This year was no different. Even though my Ankle is still giving lots and lots of problems, we again managed to perform the festival like every year. And once again we had my Daughter join us and she helped us every step of the way.

We didn’t even have a drop of water until we finished the pooje, did Naivedya, have my sister and brother-in-law as Brahmana Mutaide, served food for the two of them, my daughter husband, and when I had lunch it was close to 3 pm. It was just humbling to see even my daughter not even have.a sip of water until lunch was served. Blessed are we to have a daughter who grew up all her life in America, is going to be an Orthopedic surgeon soon, and still follows our customs and traditions. And yes, she did 21 namaskaras to Lord Ganesha.

We also had a few of my Satsangha sisters for pooje, Ganesha story reading and followed by dinner. I wish a few of the blog friends could have joined, but well it was a week day so cannot force anyone.

Most flowers, banana leaf, Tulasi, grass-garike, patre leaves were from our garden. Mango leaves and Betel Leaves from my Sister’s garden. Like I always say, we had lots of fruits, coconut, flowers. And as always we prepared all the food. Some of the items we prepared were:
