  2. Apparently, ee shloka ondhondhu kade ondhondhu iraththe. Is there a way to know the original script? i have come across 3 copies in the past month and varies either by sequence or even by stances.

Other variation I came across at temples around was different way of pronounciation. for instance, mardhIni / mardhAni / marDHini.

I made a copy from Astrojyoti.com and translated via baraha that I use. And a disclaimer on astrojyoti was “http://www.astrojyoti.com/aigirinandini.htm” [This is one of the most famous stotras composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya. However there are several versions of this with variations]

thank you for posting these pdfs.

I refer to the comments “Posted by Ram on December 11, 2008 at 4:44 am” stating that:

ee shloka ondhondhu kade ondhondhu iraththe – meaning that this sloka appears in one way at one place.

My suggestion is to take a print out of the Kannada page of this sloka and hear the recitation at You tube site with the following link. It was recited in a correct way.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwwDL1XirQw&NR=1

The correct way to pronounce is “Mardini” not “madani”.

    Best regards

    Thanks for your suggestion, Sureedu.

    dear sureedu,
probably what ram says is correct. If u say a particular version is correct, what the basis for such assertion? absolutely none. so in the absence of an authentic version, none of the versions can be dismissed as wrong.
